Hello, everyone!
I just read that Ford has officially begun mass production of the all-electric Ford Explorer at their first dedicated EV facility in Europe! It's pretty cool because they spent $2 billion to convert an old plant into a cutting-edge factory for electric vehicles.

The new electric Explorer is based on Volkswagen's MEB platform (which is also used for the ID.4), as part of a partnership Ford began in 2020. It's built for families, with 470 liters of storage and a massive 15-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

One thing that stood out to me was the Explorer EV's ability to fast charge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes! That seems very useful for road trips.

Ford had planned to begin production in 2023, but it was postponed to meet new global safety regulations. It is currently being produced at Ford's new Cologne Electric Vehicle Center in Germany. A second electric vehicle, a sporty crossover, will also be released soon.

The electric Explorer combines German engineering and American style, and Ford claims it has a range of more than 600 kilometres (374 miles) on a single charge. Apparently, they used the extra time to fine-tune everything, and as a result, the vehicle is expected to be even better.

It's amazing to think that Ford's Cologne factory, which opened in 1930, is now manufacturing cutting-edge electric vehicles. This seems like a big step for Ford in Europe!

Yeah, it is great seeing Ford investing so much in EV technology. I hope the collaboration will accelerate the shift to electric vehicles.
As for the Explorer's features...
I just hope they won't have any bugs, haha!
The fast charge will help. I like they thought about driver's families, ha!
A 15-inch touchscreen is definitely a nice touch. The range of over 600 kilometers is also promising for road trips. It reminds me of the record set by Lexie Alford.
Let's hope for the best from it.

I’m really excited to see Ford making such a big push into the EV space too! The partnership with Volkswagen seems like a smart move, and hopefully, it helps speed up the shift to electric like you said.

Haha, fingers crossed they keep the bugs to a minimum! With all the tech they’re packing into the Explorer, especially that huge 15-inch touchscreen, there’s always the worry of glitches. But I’m hoping the extra time they took to fine-tune everything means fewer hiccups.

The range and fast charging definitely stand out for me too—should be great for long trips without needing to stop too often. I hadn’t heard about the Lexie Alford record, but now I’m curious! Let’s hope Ford delivers a solid ride with this one.
