Ford delays 3-row EV SUV

Ford is developing a new platform for compact EVs starting around $25,000. Explorers appear to have been put on hold for now.

This is a smart decision by Ford. Targeting affordable, compact EVs expands the market to include a broader range of buyers. Furthermore, it provides more options for those considering electric vehicles. I hope it becomes a reality!

They haven't delivered on the Explorer yet and they shifted their focus to compact EVs? It may be true that it is affordable and there is a much larger market with compact EVs but I don't think it's fair to leave SUVs out of the picture.

Focusing on a platform that has the potential to sell more but sacrificing the development of Explorers can be a double-edged sword. This can be considered a smart decision because just like @GoodFella said, it caters to a broader range of potential clients and could be a possible gold mine for Ford.

There might be a good reason if they put on hold the development of Explorer EV. But they cannot leave that good project forever, it is only a strategy on how they will position each project to its fullest advantage.
